This ad brought many of the town's business, their agencies and the APFS design, photography, preflighting and desktop publishing services together for the compiling and publication of this full page ad to be featured in the October 2004 issue of US Air's Attaché Magazine. In addition APFS printed 1000 single sheets to help with pre-launch marketing for the advertisers

As an Adobe trained graphic designer and a certified graphic designer Maggie Houston has had extended studies with the American Film Institute and the Kauai Film Institute and completed the certified graphic design I and II level courses for graphic design certification with DGI of Indiana.

As 1 of only 15 people, she studied with Adobe Photoshop program co-developer/art director Russell Brown in 1996.  After teaching herself basic html, Maggie created her first page in order to satisfy course requirements.  Because she has a deep interest in video and streaming technology she also submitted a Beta format promotional video tape which was designed by Maggie and edited on an Avid system with the help of cameraman Jim Waters.  For her effort she was chosen by Adobe and the American Film Institute as one of only fifteen people for the Digital Video Master Class.  This class was sponsored by Adobe, Apple, Eastman Kodak, and AFI. http://www.filmkauai.com/cafe/live.html  Please visit the her personal site page created while in Hawaii. http://www.filmkauai.com/cafe/MaggieHouston/

Choosing a desktop publishing specialist
Think of this...

  • Maggie brings a highly evolved 28 year background from traditional printing and photography which gives her an excellent background for desktop publishing.  Before working with electronic media she was a transparency retoucher and photo illustrator.
  • Maggie has taken the time to train with the best.   Her approach is as a professional computer software operator and image manipulator.
  • With her education in digital video and non-linear editing she has positioned herself as an administrator/ implementer for graphics, website development, and CD/Video project management.  Maggie has developed her own TV series "Exploring Natural Ways" and is co-host of  "The M&M Show" to keep her sharp and expand her experience.  This program is the basis of her Doctoral Thesis in Divinity.  She received her Doctorate of Divinity in August 2000.

Strengths
Maggie Houston is a certified graphic designer and a rare desktop publishing specialist, dedicated to completing her assignments and holding the responsibility that clients place with her.
